On Monday’s “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine opens up for the very first time since her son’s June 2009 death. Among the topics covered during the show was Michael’s addiction to plastic surgery.

Katherine told Oprah that when Michael was an adolescent, he thought he was ugly, and “one day made up his mind to get his nose done.” He had so many procedures his nose got smaller each time, to the point that his nose looked “like a toothpick,” the late pop star’s mother said. She even asked Michael’s surgeon, if asked to operate again, to pretend that he’d done the procedure.

Katherine also tells Oprah that she spoke to her son about his addiction to drugs. “I spoke to him about them once, when I had heard it, and he denied it. I was telling him I didn’t want to hear one day that he had overdosed, because it would break my heart,” Katherine said.

In other Jackson news, the first single from Michael’s new album was released on his website. “Breaking News” is a “never heard before song by Michael,” which was recorded in 2007 in New Jersey and recently finished, according to the site.

What makes Cindy even more desirable is the fact that she looks really beautiful and natural like she’s born with it.

Watching Cindy’s documentary on TV and reading her biography, it fills me with awe, horror, respect, jealousy and in conflict all rolled into one. First, I have to salute Cindy’s courage to undergo so many surgeries and to endure great pain and sacrifice for her ultimate quest to be beautiful. I really respect her integrity and her relentless pursuit of her dreams and goals. She is now living the dream life that she’s been longing for all her life. I’ve seen pictures of her recuperating from her surgery and they looked really scary and too painful to even look at. I actually had to hold my gag reflexes while watching her documentary. It was that bad.

Then, why jealousy? Obviously because she is downright smack perfect! How I wish I have half of her perfection! OK, I’ve admitted that I’m jealous of her. But, I’m not so petty, just a fleeting feeling *wink*

Now, why in conflict you say? I think plastic surgery makes it increasingly unfair to those who are born naturally beautiful. It’s no longer a privilege to be born beautiful because with money and the scalpel of a great surgeon, anyone can be beautiful now. Natural beauty is no longer a gift but it’s as easy as buying lunch (with all the botox lunch parties and even nose job lunch break craze). A little tweak and a nip/tuck, and voila a masterpiece has been created and the world is your oyster. It also raises the bar for beauty standards to crazy new heights, thus putting unnecessary pressure for us women to conform to the standards of beauty. It really is increasingly difficult to be satisfied with our own body image these days.

MAKE-UP OR SURGERY?

Celebrity watchers think they’ve spotted evidence that tennis star Serena Williams had a nose job while she was out of action recently for treatment of an injured foot.

That speculation was triggered by recent photos of her more stylish look, which makes her nose look a bit different — or possibly highlights a difference that a plastic surgeon created in the operating room. (For example, compare this month’s photo, above left, with the one from early July, above right).

“Serena Williams has decided to change her masculine figure and it looks like she started with her nose,” said the blog Why Fame.

Most every speculation on the subject comes with a disclaimer — perhaps the apparent change is just an effect of good makeup.

I’d add, perhaps also an effect of a different photo angle and different lighting.

“Was the new make-up contouring techniques which add the illusion of more defined facial features? Hard to tell!” said Why Fame.

The Daily Mail said, “The tennis star’s new look ignited a flurry of speculation online over whether she’d undergone a cosmetic procedure or if it was just an amazing makeover.

“Lots of celebrities use make-up contouring techniques to add the illusion of more defined facial features, so this may have been the case.”

The blog Soul of Beauty said, “Since it can’t be confirmed that Williams has had any cosmetic surgery to adjust the shape of her nose, we’ll just assume that she’s wearing makeup to make her nose appear more narrow.”

In brand new photos exclusively obtained by RadarOnline.com the reality TV star is seen in in a bikini in Costa Rica wearing a strange bandage on her nose, complete with a splint, often used to protect a nose after rhinoplasty.

The photos were taken last Thursday, August 19, in Costa Rica, but only released today.   

After the photos hit the web,  Montag  released a statement to Life & Style magazine, explaining the tape.  Montag said, “Except for filming and a few photo shoots, I’ve had my nose tape on 24 hours a day since November. It takes a year for your nose to heal. This is just the first photo that anyone has seen of it.

“The last time I didn’t wear tape after surgery and my nose changed shape,” she said. “The tape is supposed to keep the swelling down and hold my nose in place the way Dr. Ryan sculpted it. Dr. Ryan always said I was his best, most cautious patient, and I’m not taking any chances now that he’s gone. I don’t want my face to fall off like Michael Jackson’s.”

Looking for an Orange County Nose Surgery Plastic Surgeon?

We were still recovering from New Year’s Eve when the gossip girls over at Radar reported that actress Blake Lively — who plays bad-girl-gone-good Serena van der Woodsen on the CW series “Gossip Girl,” chronicling the life and loves of annoyingly good-looking, wealthy and privileged New York City prepsters — didn’t always have such a spectacular profile.

According to Radar’s well-placed source, Lively, 20, had the rhinoplasty after filming wrapped on 2006′s “Accepted.” (Multiple calls and e-mails to Lively’s publicists asking for confirmation were not returned by the time of their posting, they said.)

But photos and old videos, well, they just do not lie. We were reminded of this when “Access Hollywood” unearthed an old clip of Blake, then 17, promoting the release of “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.” See the video here, and check out Blake’s newer, thinner, more refined nose, top right, at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards, compared to her old natural nob, top left, at the 2005 Teen Choice Awards.

On a more earth-shattering note, People is reporting that Lively, unlike her TV character, has “kissed just three people.”

“I’ve kissed just three people in my life, other than stuff that I’ve done for TV or movies,” she says. “I know — I’m weird!”

Do we believe her? I mean, first the quietly executed nose job. Now this information about a practically non-existent love life? We’re a little suspicious …
